Sedation Dentistry Options

75% of the guests of cosmetic dentist Dr. Imm tell us that they have had a negative dental experience in the past that left them feeling either embarrassed or with dental anxiety about future visits. We want you to know that you will never have such an experience with our caring and committed dental team. You are our guest and you will be treated with respect and consideration by each and every member of our office staff and dental team! Our goal is to make your treatment effective, comfortable and even enjoyable!

Many of our guests choose to use sedation therapy during their treatment because of these past traumatic experiences or because they may have extensive restorative dental work to be done and would like to get it done in fewer, longer visits.

Because Dr. Imm has been licensed to administer IV Conscious Sedation,we are one of the few dental facilities in the state able to offer both Oral and IV Conscious Sedation to our guests.

    * Oral Sedation involves taking medication orally, in pill form. This medication will leave you feeling profoundly relaxed, yet able to still respond to questions or directions. You will remember little or nothing of your procedure afterwords and recovery is quick.
    * IV Conscious Sedation involves administering sedation medication intravenously. This is usually used for treatments that are more complicated or of longer duration. Expertly trained dentist Dr. Imm will regulate exactly how much sedation medication is needed to make sure you remain both comfortable and safe during your procedure.

During any sedation procedure, the comfort and safety of our guests is our highest priority. You will be under professional supervision the entire time and your vital signs are monitored using such equipment as an EKG and pulse oximeter. Nitrous oxide is used in conjunction with the sedation medication, allowing us to actually use less medication during treatment and allowing our guests to recover more quickly from the effects of the medication post-treatment.

We are so excited to be able to offer this dental option to our guests. It's made it possible for many to enjoy a beautiful, healthy smile who otherwise would never have felt comfortable seeking the needed treatment. If you have been fearful about seeking need dental treatment, we would love to talk with you about this option and answer any of your questions!
