Today is going to be a great day.
Repeat that to yourself. Maybe a couple of times. Sometimes, happiness can be a choice. You can choose to dwell on the annoying things that life sometimes brings or you can choose to notice and enjoy the small things– the beautiful sunrise, your cup of coffee, a smile from a stranger. William James once said, “Action may not always bring happiness, but there is no happiness without action.” Do something you love, find a job you love, or connect your work to a goal that matters to you. The majority of your life is taken up by work, so find a way to enjoy it and find meaning in it.
I’ll give it another try.
Sometimes, things just don’t turn out quite the way you hoped–and that’s okay. Give yourself some grace and some credit for trying–then commit to try again! We can always learn from our mistakes.
Learn to express gratitude. Not only does it make the people around you feel good, but it helps you count your blessings and realize how much you already have.
When you fail, stop and say “I’m okay.” Everyone fails, and often those who endure the most end up experiencing the most success.
