Fillings have come a long way over the years, and they can be a rather pain-free experience. However, wouldn’t it be nice if a drill didn’t have to be involved at all?!

A ground-breaking procedure is being developed in London right now that does just that. The technique uses electrical currents to reverse the effects of tooth decay, and jump-starts the natural repair process of the tooth. Studies are now occurring at King’s College on the process, known as EAER (Electrically Accelerated and Enhanced Remineralisation) . If successful, the treatment will not only be painless and drill-free, but also more cost-effective than current treatments.
