Pinhole Gum Rejuvenation

Dr. Imm recently traveled to a hands-on conference on pinhole gum rejuvenation. We are proud to offer this revolutionary new treatment that takes the pain and sutures out of repairing gum recession.

What is gum recession? Why is it a big deal?

Gum recession is the loss of gum tissue along the gum line. It is caused by periodontal disease, aging, or some dental hygiene habits. Gum recession exposes the root of the tooth. This exposes it to tooth decay and cavities. Healthy gums are a vital part of continued dental health.

How is it typically treated?

Traditionally, gum recession is treated by using donor tissue or using a tissue graft from another area of the mouth. Sutures are used in order to repair the receding gums.

How is the Pinhole surgical technique (PST) different?

PST uses a tiny needle to make a hole in the gum. The existing gum tissue is gently stretched over the receding area in order to recreate a healthy gum line without the use of grafts or sutures.

What are the advantages of the Pinhole method?

  • Faster recovery time
  • Little to no discomfort
  • No grafts or sutures
  • A natural and healthy looking gum line
  • Lasting results

We are proud to be one of the few offices in the country to offer this technique. If you have receding gums, call us today to find out if you could be a candidate for Pinhole gum rejuvenation.
