Step it up for Dental Health Month!

February is National Dental Health Month, and provides a time to focus awareness on positive dental health habits. Use this month as a kickstart to a year of better dental habits. What are some small improvements you can make?

  • Schedule your next cleaning. Most children and adults should get their teeth cleaned every six months unless otherwise directed by their dental health professional.
  • Floss! As we’ve talked about in previous posts, brushing only cleans 60% of your teeth, but most people don’t take the time to floss daily. For some flossing tips and alternatives, see here.
  • Take inventory of your smile. Is there anything you want to change? Are you proud of your smile? Talk with your dentist about any cosmetic procedures you are interested in. Check out our website on some information on cosmetic options available.

Tune back in later this week for a Dental Health Month quiz with a chance to win a restaurant gift card.
